Iceberg and Delta Table Connections, Plus Platform Refinements
Connect Iceberg and Delta Tables
You can now connect read-only Iceberg tables hosted on S3, GCS, or Azure, as well as Delta tables on S3, directly from the connection UI when enabled for your workspace. This opens up a new class of data sources for teams already working with these table formats in their data lake, without needing a separate ingestion step.
Improvements
- Disable and Delete for a data source now live in a dedicated menu next to its name, and deleting requires typing the source name to prevent accidental removal
- The typing indicator in rooms no longer covers the Analysis Notebook card above the chat input
- Suggested analyses on the project home now show their full title, explain why they appeared in plain language, and start the right conversation when you click Discuss analysis
- Typing your own answer to a clarifying question now clearly replaces the suggested default option
- Project admins can remove a catalog view they added to a project as long as nothing in that project still depends on it
- You now get an inbox notification that takes you straight to a project when someone shares it with you
- Asking about the date range of timestamp columns stored as numbers now returns the correct first and last day on the first try
