Google Workspace Connections in Orion

When you choose to connect a Google account to Orion, we access the Google data needed for the connection you enable:

• Google Calendar: We read the calendars available to your account and events you ask Orion to use. Orion uses event details to answer your calendar questions and, if you turn on calendar automation, to review upcoming events on the calendars you select and prepare analysis tasks in the project you choose. Orion does not create, change, or delete your Google Calendar events.
• Google Sheets: We access spreadsheet names and metadata to let you choose a spreadsheet, then read the spreadsheets you attach to an Orion project for previews, analyses, notebooks, and workflows. If you explicitly allow writing to an attached spreadsheet, Orion can create a spreadsheet or tab and write results to the permitted tabs. You can change an attachment back to read-only or detach it in the project.

We use your Google account identity to associate each connection with your Orion account. We store OAuth tokens to keep a connection working. Disconnecting a connection stops Orion from using its token for future Google API requests. Calendar preferences, spreadsheet attachments, and content already included in Orion conversations, notebooks, reports, or other project outputs may remain as customer data until you delete them or they are deleted under the retention periods below.

Orion may process the Google data you choose to use through AI services acting on our behalf to produce the visible analysis and meeting preparation features you request. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or use it to develop, train, or improve general-purpose or non-personalized AI or machine learning models. We limit access by our personnel and service providers to what is needed to provide the service, respond to your support request with your permission, protect the service, or comply with law.

Our use of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The retention periods and deletion request process below apply to Google user data and the Orion outputs derived from it. You can disconnect a Google connection in Orion Settings and request deletion by contacting hello@gravity.foundation.

Security of Personal Information

We take the security of your personal information seriously and have implemented suitable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures are reviewed and updated regularly to combat new threats and vulnerabilities.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or to meet legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or de-identify it. These periods apply however you access Orion, including through third-party apps such as ChatGPT.

If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will do so once we verify your request, unless we have a legal obligation or legitimate business interest that requires us to keep it. We may keep data longer when the law requires it, for example under a legal hold. We review our retention periods at least once a year.

Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent users' personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates, and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

International Transfers

Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Gravity reserves the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
