Interactive Charts and Smarter Dashboards

Interactive Charts, Everywhere

Charts across the product are now interactive and easier to build. Ask Orion in chat to chart something and it designs the chart from your data; table metrics now open on the table itself, where you can add a chart from suggested types, preview it, and save it.

Charts in chat and in findings cards can now be hovered, resized, and expanded, and you can always see the data behind them.

Curated Dashboard Chart Library

Dashboards are now built from a curated chart library, giving you more reliable charts and totals, maps for geographic data, and custom chart cards that still respond to your filters. Building a new dashboard card is also simpler now, with a clear Build it or Not yet choice on the plan card.

Guided Datasource Disable and Restore

Before disabling a data source, you can now review exactly what will be paused and browse the affected items, then re-enable the source again directly from the same place. This takes the guesswork out of turning datasources off and on.

Improvements

  • Saving a schedule from a metric's detail panel on the Metrics Catalog page now works correctly
  • Anyone allowed to edit a metric can now generate and refresh its "What Orion Understands" diagram
  • Buttons just above the message box, like a dashboard's Expand button, now respond reliably to clicks even when the scroll-to-bottom arrow is showing
  • Creating a new Knowledge Base page or folder from the right-click menu no longer gets interrupted before you can type a name
  • Views that take several minutes to run now finish successfully instead of getting stuck at "Not yet executed," and failed views now show an error message
  • Looker migrations now include dashboards you add by URL even if they have no recent usage, and the migration summary explains when one can't be fetched
  • Chats that previously could stall and cause later messages to fail now recover automatically
